THE FINE PRINT

THE FINE PRINT Mac McDiarmid of Bike Magazine summed up the experience best of all "South Island is one of nature's best kept - and just plain best secrets. Pure and simple, it's the best place on Earth to ride a bike". Geographically full of surprises, New Zealand is a Garden of Eden paradise of natural beauty and spectacular views all contained in an area approximately the size of England with only 3.5 million inhabitants. Be prepared to experience ever changing scenery that takes you through a desolate plateau in the morning and onto sub-tropical rainforests in the afternoon. Here, you can escape the rush of everyday working life and take the time for peaceful reflection in a sparkling clean environment, where friendly people make you feel welcome on your travels. This country presents more space and attractions per capita than most other holiday destinations in the world. There are majestic fiords, native forests, sandy beaches, a land of awesome beauty and contrast. Not only remarkable scenic beauty, but New Zealand offers an exciting entertainment industry as well as historical sights and cultural activities. As most of the South Island is hilly or mountainous, the roads are a motorcyclist's delight... scenic, well engineered, well maintained, and best of all, uncrowded. Depending on your personal choices you can experience many of the following, white-water rafting, fun parks, wildlife colonies, tramping, launch cruises, fishing, gold-panning, city sights and nightlife, casinos, Maori hangi (feast), Maori Village, geysers, jetboat rides, bungy jumping, volcanoes, geothermal mudpools, thermal springs, caves full of glow worms, horse treks, whale watching, the list could go on and on. Don't forget that you will have many opportunities to savour our renowned bounty of the seas, fresh fish, succulent shellfish, and of course, New Zealand crayfish (lobster). Get ready for the ride of your life, the vacation of a lifetime, exploring New Zealand by motorcycle. Let your heart do the riding with trouble free, unforgettable combination of first-class, well prepared motorcycles and hundreds of miles of virtually untouched scenery. Our motorcycle company was established in 1964 and is known as a market leader in New Zealand. In 1992 we became formally involved in motorcycle tours and hire.

CLIMATE The climate is mild, with an average temperature of 23 degrees Celsius in January (mid summer) and 13 degrees Celsius in July (winter). Prevailing winds are from the west, which means that the west (and most spectacular) coast of the South Island gets more rain than the drier east. The Southern Alps and Fiordland have a mountain climate.

ACCESSORIES AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHING You may bring your own motorcycle clothing or you can buy new gear from our store. We carry a huge range of riding gear from the best brands in the world. Helmets, gloves and wet weather clothing are available to hire at $20.00 each for the length of the hire. Luggage can be supplied with most motorcycles.

THE MOTORCYCLES All motorcycles are maintained in excellent condition by qualified motorcycle technicians. Most motorcycles are equipped to carry luggage. Due to regular updating of the fleet some models will change. Check with your agent or the tour operator for the current range of motorcycles.
